Dear Butterfield Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am honored to continue as principal at Butterfield School. This year we will focus on the positive while embracing the challenges we encounter as opportunities to learn and grow.
Butterfield has an enrollment of approximately 275 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We offer a variety of programs to help our students achieve their greatest potential including differentiated instruction, literacy support, fine arts, and physical education.
Butterfield’s vision is to offer a welcoming school bustling with the joy of teaching and learning where all embrace academics and personal success. Our mission is to provide a challenging and collaborative environment where everyone is encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, make thoughtful decisions, and strive to achieve their personal best. Butterfield School is the place to begin the path to our dreams.
In 2018, Butterfield School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon from the Department of Education. This award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.
The staff and I look forward to spending time with the students and families as we all work together to make Butterfield a H.A.P.P.Y. place to learn and grow.
