Dear Butterfield Families,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am honored to be the principal at Butterfield School. This will be a year of building a new future together. The Butterfield community is truly a wonderful place full of caring families, diligent students, and hardworking teachers.
Butterfield has an enrollment of approximately 285 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. We offer a variety of programs to help our students achieve their greatest potential including differentiated instruction, literacy support, fine arts, and physical education.
Butterfield’s vision is to offer a welcoming school bustling with the joy of teaching and learning where all embrace academics and personal success. Our mission is to provide a challenging and collaborative environment where everyone is encouraged to ask questions, solve problems, make thoughtful decisions, and to strive to achieve their personal best. Butterfield School is the place to begin the path to our dreams.
In 2018, Butterfield School was awarded the National Blue Ribbon from the Department of Education. This award recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. The National Blue Ribbon School flag gracing an entry or flying overhead is a widely recognized symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.
The staff and I look forward to spending time with the students and their families as we all grow together as a Butterfield community.
